With all the news today sometimes it seems like all of the news is only bad news
On our
San Francisco Food Tours, we try to step back and have perspective. When we look at our local communities, we see examples of the best of people. We see people on an daily basis who are taking actions to improve our communities. When others try to pretend that climate change does not exist, we taking actions on a state and local basis trying to address climate change. California has always seen itself as leader on the environment. In California, we see this as a moral imperative. The question is what are we going to leave the next generation, a livable planet or a dead planet. Even if one does not care about the generation, we see evidence of climate change in our lives. We now have some hottest years ever, we have evidence of the polar ice caps melting.
When we are on a San Francisco Food Tour, we always look at the impact that we have having. Are we having a positive impact or a negative impact? It is not just things like recycling. Granted, we come from a city that was named on the top cities for recycling in the world. It is also things that we do everyday. When we purchase something, what is it??s carbon footprint. Where does our energy come from, a fossil fuel or a renewable one? Can we walk or take public transportation? All of these are choices that we make on a daily basis. It can set an example for others by the actions that we take. They may seem like small choices, however they can make a major impact.
