Whatever the name for it is, this is really best time of the year in San Francisco, as far as the weather is concerned. For us, it??s the warmest time of year, which in our case, which means being in the 70??s. Whether it is our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy or Chinatown, it??s the perfect weather to walk around the City. We tend to eat outside more this of year. On our San Francisco Food Tours, everyone wants to sit outside on the tours. At the same time, given the food that it is in season, inside or outside, it??s just right. With all the squash that is coming in, it??s a great time for risotto. Squash is perfect for risotto. I like to cut it in half, scoop out the seeds and then roast it in the oven. At that point, it becomes the perfect ingredient for risotto. Add some saut?ed fennel and it seems like the perfect flavor combination. I like to use the frods (the leaves at top of the fennel), after the risotto is done to add some additional flavor to it. A little cheese, and it??s just right. So, we??ll be outside this time enjoying some great foods, except when we??re inside enjoying cooking. Either way, it??s a great time of year
