We had a great time on Halloween on our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy and Chinatown

The costumes were great this year and almost everyone made their own. Now that we are in November, it??s just a few more days until Dungeness Crab comes into season. I realize that they have crab in other parts of the country and the world, but we think ours is one of the best. It??s got a clean and sweet taste that goes perfect with a glass of chardonnay and some sourdough bread. Some people like their crab with melted butter, some like it with garlic, and some just like it plain. For myself, any of those ways is good, however when it first starts to show up, I like it just as it is, later on I like it in different preparations. Maybe it??s anticipation of waiting for it to come into season, it??s anyone??s guess. On our San Francisco Food Tours, it??s always interesting to see how everyone makes Dungeness Crab. In North Beach\Little Italy, it shows up with garlic and herbs, such oregano and pepper. In Chinatown, we see garlic also, however someone served it with a black bean sauce and it was remarkedly good. It??s going to fun to see the new ideas for preparing Dungeness Crab this year. I??m not sure what they will be, however if it is anything like last year, it will be delicious.
