From the perspective of our San Francisco Food Tours, sometimes we sit back and are astounded.?????? As many people are aware, we recently had a tragedy in Charlottesville, Virginia.?? We would have expected from every level of our government, from local to state to federal, to express utter disgust at the hate groups and white supremacist groups.?? We would have expected that the very thought of every attempting to justify them, would have been something that no one at any level of government would have ever thought of, much less attempted to do in any way, verbally, on paper, or on online.?? We expect our government to reflect and express the best of us, and to stand up to those who would express hate.
??
Much to our dismay, we actually had someone who is President say things are directly contrary to what we believe. He actually tried to justify hate groups. ????The question for the rest of us is what do we do now.?? What do we do when the very person that we would expect would denounce these hate groups does the exact opposite. I think the answer comes down to what we do in our daily lives.?? If we make it clear through our actions that hate has no place in our communities then these hate groups will be relegated to where they belong, the garbage.
??
On every San Francisco Food Tour, we strive to live up to the best ideals and to exhibit the best actions and to demonstrate our commitment to our communities on a daily basis.?? If each of us does that on a daily basis, then the hate groups cannot survive.
