This week, everyone??s out enjoying the holiday season

On our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy and Chinatown, we??re enjoying the holidays along with everyone else. We??re having a great time exploring San Francisco. Each block brings another surprise. On our San Francisco Food Tour, it??s the time of year when we go home and start cooking for the holidays. Some people like turkey. Some people like ham, some people vegan or vegetarian, personally, I like Dungeness Crab. Being from San Francisco, it??s a local treat that we all look forward to. Eating locally and seasonally is something that we really enjoy in San Francisco and our tour. Fortunately, there is something in season year-round here. Thanks to our climate, the hotter the inside of the state gets, the colder that we get. It just pulls the fog or marine layer right off the ocean. What that means is that right along the coast is perfect for things like artichokes. For example, most of the artichokes in the US are just south of here in Castroville and Half Moon Bay. And yet, if we thirty miles to the east, it can easily be thirty degrees hotter. What that means is that just about everything that we eat here has been grown within about an hour of San Francisco. So, we end up eating what is in season here. It??s a great way to celebrate holidays. And a yummy way also.
