This time of year is when we have our version of summer in San Francisco, when we have our warmest weather of the year.

On our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy and Chinatown. We always a great time enjoying the warm weather in San Francisco, while enjoying the fall foods from the rest of California. In San Francisco, we think that anything in the 70??s is warm, so probably don??t have the same idea of warm as the rest of the country. On our San Francisco Food Tours, we find that a lot of root vegetables are coming into the market. From beets to potatoes, we??re always finding some special foods coming into the City. Beets are great in salads or stuffed inside chicken. The only trick about stuffing chicken with beets is that you have to cook them halfway before you stuff them in the chicken. I like to add some onions, celery and carrots. As far as potatoes are concerned, roasting potatoes in the way for me. I like to toss in olive oil and herbs. You can save a step by putting the herbs in the olive oil, mixing it well and then tossing the potatoes in the olive oil mixture. The great thing is that herbs are well distributed and have a great flavor when they are roasted. It??s the perfect accompaniment to great seasonal dinner.
