Things to do on Weekends
It??s one of those weekends in San Francisco where there seems like there is an overwhelming number of things to do in San Francisco. From festivals to celebrations, there is so much going on right now. On our San Francisco Food Tour North Beach\Little Italy and Chinatown, we??re seeing that as well. From new foods coming into the neighborhoods, due to the time of year to new takes on current foods, it??s a really fun time on our tours.
Salmon is still in season and the salmon panni sandwiches on our San Francisco Food Tours are really delicious with the local salmon. We catch the salmon right off the coast, so it??s really fresh. Additionally, we??re starting to see fall artichokes come into season, they don??t look as pretty as the spring artichokes, however I like the flavor even better than the spring artichokes. It??s the reason that I like to steam them and eat them with not much on them.
We??re also starting to eggplants come into the market. That opens up so much food for us to cook and enjoy. Italian eggplant is perfect for eggplant parmesan and the Japanese eggplant are great to saut? with olive oil , lemon and rosemary. I like to use the lemon juice when they are saut?ing and then serve with the lemon rind. It??s makes a great side dish.
With all of the foods that we??re seeing, it??s a great time of year for nice dinners with family and friends. Soon, we??ll be close to Thanksgiving, so we??ll be all set. All and all, it??s a great time of year to be in San Francisco. And a delicious time, as well.
