There??s something about mushrooms that spark creativity in me.

Whether it??s chanterelles, hedgehog, morels, portabellas, creminis, button mushrooms or another type, when I get in the kitchen, I have a great time coming up with a new dish.?? On our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little and Chinatown, it??s always great to see what ingredients sparks everyone??s creativity.?? Everyone in each neighborhood has their own ingredient, the things that they really enjoy using in the kitchen.?? It??s that ingredient that when one gets in the kitchen that you start thinking that you??re going to make something one way and then it??s ends up being something really good that came up, as a result.?? For example, I got some fresh hedgehog mushrooms. At first, I thought I would make a chicken dish and use the hedgehog mushrooms.?? However, I saw some fresh brioche and I decided to make it into bread pudding.?? Added to that with some bell peppers and spices and it turned out really yummy.

On our San Francisco Food Tours, it??s always fun to see how people see the right ingredient and get it in kitchen and then have a great time coming up with a new dish.   It starts with some ingredient and then they see something else and what gets created is usually something really good.  It??s what??s makes cooking so much fun.  The time that one can use their creativity to make something that they really like.     And the great part is we get to enjoy the result of their creativity.  And we do that ourselves, we to enjoy the result of our creativity.  Either way, it seems to really taste good.
