September is here and with that is when we start to think on our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy or Chinatown about what to do with the new foods coming into the markets.?? One of things coming into the market are brussels sprouts.?? It is one of those vegetables that lends itself to some many different ways prepare and enjoy.?? Whether you roast them in the oven with some prosciutto, shave them into as salad, roast them along with chicken into the oven, they add just the right flavor to food.??
Fortunately, corn is here, and there is an easy to make corn in the microwave.?? An easy way to make it in the microwave is to just keep that stalk on, then microwave it for three minutes, turn it about a half turn, microwave for three minutes, then turn it one last time about half turn, then microwave for another three minutes.?? It comes perfectly done.
On our San Francisco Food Tours, we really like trying what is in season.?? The challenge is to do a little as we can to the food. When something is in season, you do?? not need to do much to it. When it is not, there really is not much that you can do with it.
Whether it is here in San Francisco or elsewhere, eating what is seasonally ??is not fun, and easy, it is also delicious.?? The natural flavors of the food are enough.?? They don??t need to be covered up.?? It makes for only a fast meal, it makes for delicious meal.?? And, it is an incredibly easy way to eat.
