On our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy or Chinatown

On our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy or Chinatown, it??s usually not really noticeable when winter is in the area. It does not snow here, and we get a little cooler, however that is only on the 50??s. So, the real to tell is all of the soups that start to show up on our tours. There is not much that you can??t make soup from. For myself, tomato soup or butternut squash are my absolute favorites. In both cases, I like to roast the tomatoes or butter squash before I make them into soups. Add a fresh salad to that and it??s the perfect meal. On our San Francisco Food Tours, we have a great time seeing what everyone makes into soup. In North Beach\Little Italy, they seem to like hearty meals. Chinatown seems to make a little lighter soup. The great thing about the soups in Chinatown are the rice noodles. Fresh rice noodles are really great. I like the places that make their own rice noodles. For me, I can taste a difference. The same seems to be valid about soups in North Beach\Little Italy that have pasta. Fresh pasta makes a big difference. The pasta seems to be much more infused with flavor of the soup. For rice noodles, they seem to do the same, but have their own distinctive flavor. Either way, it??s a great way to have soup.
