Whether is something that is served with or some ingredients that it is made with, it can open up to a wide variety of possibilities. It??s probably the reason that making my own pasta is so great for me.?? I can use whatever ingredients that I want, from spinach to squash and more to making in whatever shape that I want, whether it is spaghetti, lasagna, linguini, Cappelli or more. Nowadays it is so easy to make you own pasta.?? It used to be you have to mix all of the ingredients, roll it out, cut it and shape in a pasta roller and more.?? Nowadays, it can be as simple as mixing the ingredients in a mixture, then rolling it and shaping it with an attachment that you can put on the stand mixer.?? I??ve even seen pasta machine where all you do is put all of the ingredients in the machine, turn it on and machine mixes and rolls the pasta for you.?? At the same time, it??s just taking a simple ingredient and making it your own.
On our San Francisco Food Tour of Chinatown and North Beach\Little Italy, it always fun to see how people will take some simple ingredients and make it into their own creation, whether it is something as simple as pasta or dumplings, or something kind of squash or chicken. The good news is they all like working with fresh ingredients, so everyday there is so new dish to try.
