In California, spring brings wildflowers. Most years, we have to travel a short trip to see them.

This year, not only do we have wildflowers, the ones in San Francisco are pretty spectacular. On our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy and Chinatown, we??re getting to see all kinds of flowers all over our neighborhoods. That seasonal focus is what makes our tours so much fun. On our San Francisco Food Tours, we get see and enjoy all of the seasonal flowers and foods throughout our tour. All year round, we can tell the change of seasons on our tours. The foods change, the recipes change, and every season bring new surprises on our tours. We love to cook that same way, so this time of year, we??ll be cooking a lot with asparagus as the season starts. Asparagus is one those vegetables that is great in salads, slighted grilled, or in asparagus soup. Personally, I like soup. Making asparagus soup is so easy and it turns our really well. All I do is cook the asparagus stalks in stock, you can use chicken or vegetable stock. After the asparagus is tender, puree the mixture in a food processor, add it back to pot, then add some spices and herbs. If you want to add cream, I would add it after you turn the heat off, so the cream does not curdle. Eating seasonally is so much fun. And this time of year, it is great time to do just that. It??s always really yummy.
